Hiking trip August 2025

From Braies to the Tre Cime and beyond

Come with us on this 4-day rifugio-to-rifugio hiking tour with departure from Lake Braies and arrival at the Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

Thanks to the great experience of our guides, participating in this multi-day hiking tour sleeping in rifugio is an experience suitable for everyone.

This multi-day tour is recommended for those who want to hike to the foot of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, see Lake Braies and enjoy the beautiful Natural Park Fanes-Sennes-Braies between Cortina d'Ampezzo and San Candido.

We hike every day from rifugio to rifugio on less popular and more adventurous trails. The difference in altitude is never excessive and our pace adapts to the needs of the group, leaving time to take pictures!
At the end of each day, a cozy rifugio is waiting for us to regenerate with good food and a warm bed, leaving us ready to discover new peaks and new horizons on the next day!

The technical level required is not for experts but it is necessary to be fit as we are going to hike from 5 to 7 hours a day.

Whether alone or in the company of your friends, joining this multi-day tour is something you won't forget - contact us for more information.

Daily Program

Lake Braies » Nature Park Fanes-Sennes-Braies
Altitude difference: -200m/+800m over 12 kilometers

Meeting time is 8.45 AM in Dobbiaco from where we take the bus to reach Lake Braies where the tour starts.
We are going to hike on less crowded trails and we will have the time to fully enjoy all the beautiful nature that surrounds us. There is the possibility of having lunch in a typical alpine hut.

Dobbiaco can be easily reached by train from Bolzano/South Tyrol or by bus from Venice/Cortina d'Ampezzo. Free parking available for the entire duration of the tour.

Fanes-Sennes-Braies Natural Park » Prato Piazza
Altitude difference: -500m/+1000m over 18 kilometers

We set off early for the most challenging day of all. During the hike, in addition to a spectacular natural environment, we will have the opportunity to stop for lunch in a special place where we can taste typical South Tyrolean dishes.
After lunch, we keep going along a path of medium difficulty that represents the best of true Dolomites hiking.

Prato Piazza » Monte Piana
Altitude difference: -800m/+800m over 14 kilometers

This third day is less challenging, although there is one steep climb that will make us sweat.
In the afternoon, if we have time, we will have the opportunity to visit historical places of the First World War such as tunnels, trenches and lookout posts about which the guide will tell you many interesting stories.
The rifugio where we are going to stay offers one of the most beautiful views you can have in the Dolomites, simply amazing!

Monte Piana » Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Altitude difference: -600/+700m over 14 kilometers

The first part of the hike is downhill and then the last effort is uphill to get to the bottom of the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo. From the foot of these rock giants, we head to the next "rifugio" and the Cadini di Misurina where we will have the opportunity to take one of the most exciting photos of the Alps!

For those ending the tour here, return to Dobbiaco is scheduled between 2:00 and 4:00 PM.

Tre Cime di Lavaredo » Sesto Dolomites
Altitude difference: +200m/-1300m over 15 kilometers

Last day for this trek through the eastern Dolomites: from the Three Peaks of Lavaredo we move eastward to cross the Sesto Dolomites at the foot of some of the best known peaks of the Alps such as Croda dei Toni and Cima Nove. The landscape at altitude is lunar, the light is very strong. One step after another, we return to the valley from where by bus in no time we will return to our starting point. Congratulations to all!

The tour is scheduled to end between 1:30 and 3:30 PM at the starting place.
